Reunion in The Netherlands, 1998 1998 was the year in which we actually all met. I thought it would be a nice idea to have a little reunion for those I was really good friends with. So invited Perry, Andreas, Steve, Ulf and Nicholas. We are still in contact with eachother well excpet for the last two mentioned above. On this page just some pics of that time. Most of these pics have already been put online so many times that you know them by heart. A reason more to keep the selection small. If you want to see more just send me an email and I'll send you a zipfile with all the pictures. So far for the formal part. Let's move on to some pictures.
This is the first picture is of the night that we all met up at Owen's (my bro) place. Perry and Nicholas arrived a couple of days earlier and we had already visited a few things in The Hague. In the beginning it was not even sure whether Steve and Andreas were coming. Finally that evening we received a phonecall from Steve saying that they were on their way. A few hours later we received another call. It was them. They were in the center of The Hague where the roads were being restored and the famous tunnel for trams was being built. I remember Steve saying: "Hey Wouter, we're near a big f*cking whole in the ground, could you come and get us?" Steve and Andreas did not stay for long but they did come with us to Amsterdam and Highstreet, a club in Belgium (for a Dutch review see my bro's site). After a good sleep we went to Amsterdam by train. In MAsterdam we wanted to visit the Dutch Heineken Beer Museum but that was already closed. Pity so we wandered through Amsterdam. AN dof course we visited a "Coffeeshop". Just to get an idea of what it was like of course (Yeah right, you'd say).
After our visit to Amsterdam we drove over to my parents place where we would have dinner and prepare for Highstreet. We were all quite tired and a nice meal and a shower would just do the trick. This is us sitting in our garden waiting for our meal to be served.
We had a great time in Highstreet and did not return home before it was early early morning. Unfortunate enough for Andreas who had to drive back(+/- 850 km) to his place with Steve. Sorry, about that Zig. This is us at the entrance of Highstreet and a picture taken of us driving back home. By the way that flashing thing in Steve's hand is his drivers licence.
On our way back at the Highway, Stevo started to make pictures while doing 140 km/hour. Sjeezzz of course some crazy shit that only an amercain could pull off....... NOT!!! We did the same and this is the result! Not bad hey!!?? "Have a good trip back home guys!"
Well after Steve and Andreas had lef,t we still had a couple of days to go. So we visited the themepark "De Efteling" to show our friends and guests Netherland's biggest, best and most famous themeparc. We also ran into a little translating sign humor. "Check this out a sign saying U kunt (hier chippen)!!" Yeah we had a good laugh with that.Perry enjoyed the rollercoasters and the rocking boat. Check out our mate having funny feelings in the belly when you go up and down. It makes you laugh doesn't it mate!!??
The last evening Ulf joined us because he could not make over earlier. Together we went to Europe's biggest fair in Tilburg. For more news on fairs and themeparcs I'd like to refer too The SLprojectpage at the main page! This is us sitting in the back garden again enjoying some "Jever" beer Ulf brought along from his place.
That was also the last evening and picture of the reunion. We never thought that it would have taken more than three years to get back together again. In that meantime lots of things have changed. See for yourself on the next page!!! |
