mutually solidary and gradually enlarged images,
the continuous search for order and harmony is confirmed.
This with a wink to the old roman master of building Vitruvius, in whose
book on architecture the ordinance, that is to say the harmoniously going together
of measures and sections is such an important basic condition.
Father Dom. H van der Laan has
brought to expression the foundations of the architectural
ordinance in his doctrine on the "plastic number".

De herhaling van het beeld

verlevendigt de richting,
verhevigt het ritme.
Door het originele beeld in te bedden
in onderling saamhorige, geleidelijk uitvergrote
beelden, wordt het voortdurend op zoek zijn naar orde en harmonie bevestigd,
dit met een knipoog naar de oude Romeinse bouwmeester Vitruvius, in wiens
boek over de architectuur de ordonantie -ofwel het evenwichtig samengaan
van maten en geledingen- zo'n belangrijk uitgangspunt is.
Pater Dom H. van der Laan heeft de grondslagen van de architectonische ordonantie
tot uitdrukking gebracht in zijn leer over het plastisch getal.
