The baseball trophies will be handed out on Saturday, January 24 at the site of Amsterdam Pirates in Amsterdam after the conclusion of the indoor-practice of the Dutch national team, around 12:00 PM.

Mr. Cocker HCAW's third baseman Jurjan Koenen won the first major trophy in his 16-year big league-career, being named MVP of the 2003 season. Koenen is the first HCAW-player to win the award since Jeffrey Cranston won in 1995 and is only the fourth HCAW-player in history to be named MVP. Besides Koenen and Cranston, Frans Groot won in 1991 and Ade Fijth in 1967. Koenen finished the season with a.327 average, scored 23 runs and had 16 RBI's, but proved his values for his team as an excellent defensive player, committing only three errors in the hot corner. His defensive results made the difference for Koenen. Glenn Romney (Minolta Pioniers) and Rob Cordemans (DOOR Neptunus) were also nominated.

Rob Cordemans (DOOR Neptunus) was named Best Pitcher for the second year in a row. It is his third Best Pitcher award overall, as he won his first in 1999. In the last eight years, the Best Pitcher-award was won by a Neptunus-pitcher four times, as Geoffry Kohl won in 1996. It was the eighth time a Neptunus-pitcher was named Best Pitcher. Besides Cordemans and Kohl, the other were Steve Donovan (1981), Harry Koster (1987) and Eric de Vries (1989-1990). Cordemans led the league with 106 strikeouts, a 12-1 record and an 0.93 ERA. The righthander pitched in 106 innings for the Dutch champion. Also nominated were Cordemans' teammate Eelco Jansen and Richard Orman (Minolta Pioniers).

Glenn Romney (Minolta Pioniers) won the batting title with a .367 average (51-for-139). This is the first time a Pioniers-player is the best hitter of the season.
Former pro Evert-Jan 't Hoen (DOOR Neptunus) was the homerun king with five homers and Jermaine Esprit (NTNT Tornado's) stole the most bases with 24.

The softball trophies will be handed out on Sunday, January 18, at around 5:30 PM at the conclusion of the Indoor Cup-tournament at Schiedam.

Michel Groenhart has a great offensive season behind him, leading AIMS EHS to the Play-Offs. EHS went on to win its first-ever Dutch title by dethroning last years champs Raggers Thamen. Groenhart led the league with 39 RBI's, 36 runs scored and 13 homeruns. He hit .373 (28-for-75). Groenhart is the first EHS-player to be named the league's Most Valuable Player. The last two seasons, Kenny Dame (Screenhouse Storks) won the award.

Jesper Panduro was named Best Pitcher for the second consecutive season. For the third time in a row, an EHS-pitcher won the award. In 2001, Glen Moreland won the trophy. Moreland also was nominated this season, as was Tuti Rumai (Raggers Thamen), but Panduro was named winner. Panduro led the league with 159 strikeouts and finished with a 10-1 record, 11 complete games and an 1.16 ERA in pitching 72 2/3 innings. Besides this all, the Danish pitcher threw four No-Hitters, including one Perfect Game. He threw himself in the recordbook on May 17, when he struckout all 18 batters he faced vs. Almere '90. This would have been another Perfect Game for him, but the game was declared invalid as Almere withdraw its team from the league after ten games.

Tuti Rumai (Raggers Thamen) was the Best Hitter with a .519 (27-for-53) average.
Risto Petrus (TIW-Survivors) stole the most bases with 12 and, as mentioned above, Michel Groenhart (AIMS EHS) was homerunking with 13 homers.
