He married Alice James in Headington in the 2nd quarter of 1906. It seems that although there are several Alice James off about the right age to be his wife that none of them were born in Headington, but a few were born in Plymouth. In 1914 his occupation was a sorting clerk. By 1926 he was shown as a Civil Servant.

As well as his house name being Thorpe, his sister Eleanor Melina Amelia Trevan was living at a house called Thorpe at the time of her death in 1941.
Audrey Gunn nee Trevan remembers her father Sidney Herbert Trevan (1891-) meeting him in the Plymstock area and describe him in a letter as having a senior position in the Post Office.
