Brief Description
Sarah Burt appears to have been brought up by her aunt Mary Henwood James nee Trevan, presumably because it appears that she and her husband were unable to have children of their own.
According to Fred Hancock, who provided much of the information about the Burt and Williams descendents of Christiana Meirs nee Trevan, research into the ancestry of John WILLIAMS revealed that he was the grandson of Hugh LITTLETON of Lanlivery, whose father and grandfather was also called Hugh. He also wrote
I can find no connection with the 'gentry' LITTLETONs of Sheviock Parish who were at Trewin, just across the valley from Hay. In that family the christian name Hugh also appears. I would think probably too much of a coincidence for there not to be a connection somewhere.
