Extracts from the Navy Lists

Introduction

A number of the Doctors Trevan from Port Isaac and the surrounding area became Naval Doctors. Also, a number of the female Trevan's married men who were in the Navy or Royal Marines.

My Treliving line also has some Naval connections. This page will start out with information about the Trevan Surgeons in the Royal Navy and will be extended with extracts from the Navy Lists for other part of my family as the web site is extended.

The Navy List, first issue 1830, provides a wealth of information about the Navy, including the ships and officers who were posted on them. From 1841 they were printed 4 times per year on the 1st of Feb, May, Aug and Nov. Among other data they show the dates at which ships and officers were commissioned, and some of them list the part of the world in which the ship saw service.
