The first 6 generations of males who were descended from John Trevan and who are known to have survived past childhood are listed below. To give a rough indication of how the number of descendents has not changed smoothly, the breakdown numerically by generations of adult males named Trevan on the tree are
- 1 covering c1698-1769
- 4 covering 1730-1809 and possibly longer
- 5 covering 1757-1851
- 14 covering 1799-1902
- 14 + those from the London area covering 1829-1932 and possibly longer
- 24 + the descendents from the London area covering 1855-1970 and possibly later
Total 61 + the London area branch(es)
Note that some of the females outlived their husbands and brothers, and so the generations actually lasted longer where the last surviving member of a generation was female.

Census Information - Trevan Family
The majority of the data about people named Trevan relates to the descendants of John Trevan. However there is some data about people I cannot link to this main tree. The people who were contemporaries of the above list are listed below. Most of this infromation is from the IGI and I have not yet checked it all against the original records. The "roots" of each branch is shown in bold
- Eleanor Trevan (1818-) was born at St. Kew, daughter of John Trevan and Mary nee Oliver
- Geo Trevan (c1839/40-) was born in Bangalore and he is listed in the 1901 census along with Georgiana (c1847/8-) and Mary (c1881/2-) both born in Hyderabad.
- John Trevan and Sussanna nee Pearce were married 22 Nov 1802 in St Just-in-Roseland and raised a family.
- John Pearce Trevan (1805-7) was born and buried in St Just-in-Roseland, son of John and Susanna. He died of measles.
- John Pearce Trevan (1811-39) baptised as Truman in St Just in Roseland and death registered in the Bodmin registration district.
- John Trevan / Trevena / Trewin son of Richard; married Sally Williams in Camborne, and emigrated to Australia - 1851 census; he's about the right age to be the illegitimate son of John Trevan on the main tree, but the father's name and place of birth do not match.
- John Trevan and Mary nee Oliver were living in St. Kew. The baptism entries for children Eleanor and William give his profession as Alehouse Keeper. He's possibly the illegitimate son of John Trevan on the main tree, but he's a bit young (married and a father by the age of 18)
- John Trevan, son of William, who by 10 Feb 1886 was living in Victoria, Australia.
1851 census
- Margaret Trev(e)an married Robt. Mitchel in 1708 in the parish of St. Hilary in Cornwall, according to the IGI, but I have not yet checked the original record. This entry is shown twice; once under Trevan and once under Trevean.
- Richard and Jane Trevan, parents of John (who married Sally Williams - see above)
- Richard Pearce Trevan (1815-6), son of John and Sussanna was born in St Just-in-Roseland and died there aged 1 year 6 months

- Susanna Trevan (1803- ), daughter of John and Sussanna was born in St Just-in-Roseland and most probably married William Williams in 1825 in Camborne (as Trevenes) or possibly Thomas Lean in 1832 in St Kew (as Treven)
- Thomas Trevan (c1805-) and Mary Nov 2005 who are recorded on the FreeCEN website with their family in the 1841 census in Fore Street, St Ives
- Thomas Trevan (c1825- ), son of William, who was not mentioned in his father's will in 1853 and probate in 1886. 1851 census. He married Catherine Hocking who remained in Camborne when he emigrated to Australia in 1852.
- William Trevan (c17xx-), husbandman, father to Richard (above)
- William Trevan / Trevean born Gwennap c1802, died 1853 in Camborne;
copper mine agent - 1851 census and will - civil registration of his death names him Trevean. He left a widow, Mary, and had sons John and Thomas.
He's also the right age to be the illegitimate son of William Trevan on the main tree, but the parish where he was born doesn't match.
- William Trevan (1813-6), son of John and Sussanna was born in St Just-in-Roseland and died there aged 3 years 6 months
