Parish Register and Other Church Information

The family lived in the parish of St Teath where all the baptism, marriage and burial information has been found from the parish registers.

In the rents for the Manor of Polroad in the parish of St Tudy, for Michaelmas 1747 and Lady Day 1748, John Treveighens is shown renting Hendra, for which his rent was 6s 8d for each half year (a third of a pound). There is a Hendra Farmhouse in St Tudy which still exists today (Nov 2001) which is run as a bed and breakfast but according to the owner it was built in 1903 by the duchy of Cornwall. It is located on the B3266, south of St Tudy and a little to the north of St Mabyn, and almost due west from Blisland. There is, however, another Hendra which is older in the parish of St Kew.

In the Churchwarden's accounts of 1779-80 there is an entry "To attending two justices meetings on account of John Treveighan & expenses thereon at several times - 5s 6d". This might refer to son John, but more probably to grandson John (1770-), son of William, who would be the right age to become an apprentice.

Wills

No wills have been found. The Elizabeth who was buried in 1785 was buried as a pauper.

Land Tax / Rent Information
