Parish Register and Other Church Information

The family lived in the parish of St Teath where information has been found from the parish registers.

The family was by now no longer in the "yeoman" social strata but had descended to "pauper" status. Unfortunately there is only a single page which survives from the Overseers of the Poor and there is no reference to the family there. However the burials of Elizabeth Treveans (grandmother or aunt) in 1785, Jenefer in 1787 and Susanna in 1788 are annotated as "pauper". By 1802 when William died (but was that the father or son?) he was not shown as a pauper.

In the Churchwarden's accounts of 1779-80 there is an entry "To attending two justices meetings on account of John Treveighan & expenses thereon at several times - 5s 6d". This might refer to son John, who would be the right age to become an apprentice, although it might refer to his uncle John (c1745-).

Wills

No wills have been found, but as paupers this is to be expected.

Land Tax / Rent Information

No tax or rent information has been found.
