Research Trip - October 1999
I spent some time at different locations trying to research my Trevan line but often having more success on other branches of my family! I also explored a couple of graveyards. Over the next few weeks I plan to update the Trevan part of my web site and will add the links from this page to those pages which have been updated.

Graveyards
I explored St Merryn graveyard where my 4th cousin Chris Trevan told me that there was a Trevan headstone, and Talland where Isaac Trevan's will indicates that he and his wife Ellen are buried.
- St Merryn - the church lies to the east of the town itself on the road to Padstow. There is the grave of Blanche Carminowe Trevan Lesbirel just to the right of the entrance to the church. Her headstone indicates that she died at St Neot.
- Talland - a very small hamlet reached via a mostly one track road with passing places. The church is on a plot on the side of a hill. From the highest part of the graveyard there are wonderful views over the bay below. Unfortunately many of the "vaults" are badly overgrown with brambles and ivy and I could not locate where Isaac and Ellen were buried. (Isaac's will indicates that he wants to be buried in the vault at Talland where his late wife Ellen is already buried)
Also I visited Malcolm Lee of the Port Isaac Local History Society and saw the notebook written by John Watts Trevan in 1834 - "Summary Memoirs of the Parish of Endellion Prior to the year 1834"
