He married Kezia Hambly, a widow, nee Dawe at Bolventor. She was the illegitimate daughter of Catherine Dawe and Samuel Penno. Catherine married John Harper and she was at the same census address as her mother in both the 1851 and 1861 censuses. Kezia's first marriage was to John Hambly on 2 Oct 1869 in Bolventor.
At the time of the 1881 census they had a 10 year old daughter-in-law Mary Jane Hambly staying with them. The marriage entry shows he was living in Warleggan and she was living at Dry Patches. Both made their mark and both were of full age.
Son Samuel emigrated to America leaving from Liverpool on 8 May 1897 and arriving in Philadelphia on 21 May. He settled in Quincy, East Norfolk, Mass. He became a naturalised American in 1913(?) when he gave his date of birth as 19 Nov 1874. (His birth was registered in the final quarter of 1873!) Tom Mitchell is a descendent who is actively researching this line.
By the time of the 1901 census Richard had married Ada and they were living in her home parish of Luxulyan where he was a granite quarry labourer.
Keziah died aged 60 in 2Q1904 in the Bodmin registration district.
The death of Samuel Bilkey Trevains has not been found, and further research is required to discover if he emigrated to join his son after his wife's death.
