This page contains an index to the Trevan wills from which extracts have been added to my web site. Those from before 1858 are held at the Cornwall Record Office. Those which where proven (not written or date of death, but date of probate) from 1858 are held centrally. They used to be at Somerset House in London at the time I did most of my research in this area, but I believe that they have been move to the Family Research Centre, Myddleton Street, London.

The wills have been split into a few files to keep the individual pages relatively small which avoids long delays while pages load.

List of Wills, Letters of Administration and Other Probate Material

The list is ordered alphabetically, and then chronologically within the same name. The originals of those marked (CRO) are held at the Cornwall County Record Office. Those marked (-) are referenced from documents such as calendars, but I have been unable to locate the originals. Those without any bracketted comment were at Somerset House at the time I viewed them, but I have heard that they have since been moved to another location. Those marked as (Ex) were seen at Exeter by my 5th cousin once removed, Brenda Quintrell, but I have yet to visit or look at the originals.

The dates shown are the dates when the will was proved or the letters of administration were granted, which is not always the year or even decade of death of the testator.

The majority of the wills listed below are for people who are on my main Trevan tree, although it now contains all the references I have collected. Where the name is in brackets this is to indicate that I have not tied the person onto my main tree. If you know of any more, please email me and let me know.
