AD 1622?-1710?

For younger generations of ancestors who are descended from this family:
see page on De Graaf

The oldest known hometown of this family seems to have been Capelle in the north-western part of the Province of Brabant, see map. New information on this family was kindly provided by Dave Pol, visit his homepage. In Hans Mester's homepage there are references to other Abberdaens who are probably related to or even the same as the Abberdaens in our family tree. They are Jan Cornelis Janssen Abberdaen, skipper of a riverboat in Capelle, wife unknown, and his daughter Anneke Jans Abberdaen, who was born in Leur; married Hendrik de Menij in Breda in November 1679, and died on 23-9-1736 in Breda. Jan Cornelis Janssen Abberdaen could have been the same person as our ancestor Jan Abberdaen, and Anneke may have been the same person as the Anneken who married Joost Jacobs in Capelle on 30-1-1661, who would then have been her first husband. But where was she born, in Leur or in Dongen?
