This Protestant family, probably from Flemish origin, is from the north of France. Pieter moved to England, probably to escape persecution, where his daughter married another refugee, Gabriel Hanedouche. Later Pieter moved with them to Leiden in Holland. (Frederik Bandenburg kindly provided further information on Gabriel and his wife Antonette, which has been included in this chapter.)
