AD 1640?-1730?

For younger generations of ancestors who are descended from this family:
see page on Van Willigen

This family is originally from Brakel in Gelderland, see map. The familyname was apparently not always used, and there seem to have been very many different spellings: not only Heymeyer, but also Harma, Haima, Haymand, Heijman and Heijmand, which of course makes research difficult. Leendert Dupper (1754-1830), the brother of our ancestor Sophia Dupper could not find any references while doing research on this family. Further information was kindly provided by Mrs. Clara J. DeGraff of Mapleton, Utah, USA.
