Genealogy

AD 1400?-1510?

Van Varick (also Van Vanderik)

For younger generations of (possible) ancestors who are descended from this family:
see page on Van der Dussen

The family must have taken its name from the village of Varik, on the Waal river, south of Tiel. It is not certain that we are related to this family, because there is discussion about the succession of generations in the Van der Dussen family.

Gosewijn (also "Goossen" or "Goosen") van Varick

Children of
Gosewijn van Varick (?-?)
and Maria Walravensd. van Wijhe (?-?)

(See 16 generations back)

Hendrick van Varick
* ? x Cecilia van Haeften + ?
Hendrick and Cecilia had a daughter named Gosewina, apparently after his grandfather Gosewijn. Gosewina married Jan Dachverlies (1413?-1509?), who was "schepen" of 's-Hertogenbosch in 1462. They had four children, one of which was named Walraven, possibly after the earlier Walraven van Wijhe.

Elisabeth van Varick
(blood-relationship 0,0015 %)
* ? x Florens van der Dussen (around 1460) + ?
Because of confusing and contradictory information in different sources, it is not certain that Florens was related to the early Van der Dussens in our tree, so perhaps Elisabeth was also not one of our ancestors.
For her descendants see the page on Van der Dussen.

(Not known if any other children)
