2004 - 2005

01-12-2005
With our feet still shaking from our time in Scotland we found an house in Ferwert and we crashed there. We all got sick for at least a week and stayed with Ronald's parents. What a shock to be back in Holland again. Everything is so busy and flat, the water is so high everywhere and their is no nature, almost all the parts in Holland look the samen, where is the dynamics, the wildness, the untouched? Enough to think about and figure out what we are going to do next. Ronald started a new business in sustainable design and 3D visualisation. We are looking at possiblities of homeschooling and maybe living in a co-housing community in the middle of Holland. We still need some change with our old lifestyle and pursue our dreams.

After staying in Holland for three weeks we decided to jump for an oppertunity in Findhorn Park and rent a chalet which is for sale, probally still is.. The chalet was horrible; someone left all the food in the fridge and the place was crawling with critters. We registred with the local real estate agent and found an house in Forres we could rent. We moved to that house on the first of september and try to settle down in Forres. We got loads of furniture at the local auction, which was fun to do. We soon realised that living in a small town in the north of Scotland can be very difficult. Ronald started doing business which started of very good. After three monthes of hard work we took a break to the Culdees in the mideel of Scotland and decided to go back to Holland. We found an house in the north of Holland and we said goodbey to all our friends in Scotland.

We are living in the Findhorn area now and we are starting offering out design work.
Sustainable Urban design is our main aim, but we are also focussing on our multimedia & webdesign and 3D Visualisation products. The last month's we have worked on two new websites for ecological communities in France and a multimedia presentation for the Erraid community in Scotland. We are hoping to be a positive contribution to the activities already taking place in the Findhorn area. And also hoping to find a more permanent housing in the near future.

We are on Erraid again! We know for ourselves that we want to be on Erraid more than anywhere else. If this doesnt work we are going back to Holland and find an house. The last time we were here Ronald had troubles with astma on the island. This time Ronald is free of astma. We are here as work-exchange and that just perfect for us at the moment. No stress about membership and we dont have to pay aswell.
Over a month we decide wether we want to stay or we go back to Holland. For now we enjoy our time on Erraid once again. The weather is great and we got little rain and much sun with nice temperatures. We are working in the garden and enjoy the getting ready for the new growth. On the left you can see our view on Mull, with low tide you can walk across and this bitt of water is gone.

Its a month already on Ecolonie for us, wow time flyes. Evelyn is attending the local primairy school and together with two other durch childeren she is having good fun. She even wants to go to school on saterday, but we keep her home for ourselves :-)
The weather is getting less cold and we can enjoy a day outside instead of freezing to the ground when you step outside.

We are on the move again. We left Holland with a feeling we needed to look further for our ideals. We are now in the Voges in France on a ecovillage / community called Ecolonie. We have been here before and the next two monthes we are going to experience living and working here. Stay tune for some more photo's of Ecolonie later this month.
