# Circles (A_{55a}) and (A_{55b}): The outside basal pair

### Definition

The circle with diameter from A to the point where A_{52a}A_{52b} meets
AB is the Archimedean circle (A_{55a}). In a similar way we find (A_{55b}). [FvL, 20 Mar 2008]

### Properties

- Consider the rectangle with vertices at A, B and the points of tangency of the Powerian pairs (A
_{52a})(A_{52b})
(A_{52c})(A_{52d}). The perpendiculars to the diagonals of this rectangle at these points of tangency meets
AB in A_{55a} and A_{55b}.
